One Bellevue Celebrates Local Oysters with a $1 Special

Oyster lovers get ready to celebrate New England’s finest varieties of the mouth-watering mollusk. Offered daily Sept. 29–Oct. 9 from noon to 10 p.m., Hotel Viking’s One Bellevue Oyster Fest menu showcases local oysters served raw for $1 each or baked by the half dozen for $12.

The all-local menu features these varieties of oysters:

Beaver Tail, Narragansett Bay, RI: Clean and briny
Newport Cups, Rhode Island Sound, RI: Briny with a sweet finish
Quonset Point, Narragansett Bay, RI: Sweet meat with a briny finish
Umami Oysters, Narragansett Bay, RI: Savory and sweet with a salty finish
Prudence Island Oysters, Narragansett Bay, RI: Plump meat with a clean, briny finish
Wellfleet Oysters, Wellfleet Harbor, Mass.: Salty start with a bright, crisp finish

Baked Oysters ($12 per half dozen) include one each of the following preparations:

Classic Oysters Rockefeller
Prosciutto and Basil Oyster
BBQ Oyster with Pickled Red Onion and Cilantro Crema
Lobster Gratin Baked Oyster
Chorizo-Braised Oyster with Leek Topping
Apple Chutney-Topped Oyster with Bacon, Garlic and Anaheim Peppers

Local oysters are always in season at Hotel Viking, but at a buck-a-shuck, this is a deal even a Rockefeller would love.
